< PreviousMOVERS AND SHAKERS www.networkseuropemagazine.com 70 Telent Announces Paul Lester as New Chairman Telent Ltd has announced the appointment of Paul Lester CBE as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the company. Lester joined the Board as of September 2022, succeeding David Naylor-Leyland who is stepping down as Chairman after 12 years in the position. Naylor-Leyland will continue to be a member of the Board, continuing as a Non-Executive Director. Lester has over 30 years of managing companies at PLC level, divisions of large multi- national companies, and chairing public, private and private equity-backed businesses. He is currently Chairman of McCarthy & Stone, Essentra, Funeral Partners Ltd. He was also formerly a Non-Executive Chairman of Forterra and John Laing Infrastructure, and Director of Invensys. During his career, he was Group Managing Director of Balfour Beatty before becoming Chief Executive of VT Group. Naylor-Leyland said: “After almost twelve years as Chairman, it is time for me to step down. It’s been a privilege to act as Chairman since 2010, during which time Telent has achieved considerable success as a provider of mission-critical technology solutions and importantly, we were able to take the GEC Pension Fund to Buy. “I look forward to continuing to support Telent in a non-executive capacity. Paul has a wealth of experience and is, I believe, a fantastic choice to move the business forward to our strategic objectives. I’m also delighted that Paul has agreed to Chair our Board through our next phase of growth and look forward to working with him.” Vertiv Names Cheryl Lim CHRO Vertiv has named Cheryl Lim as the company’s new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Lim will report directly to CEO Rob Johnson and lead the development and execution of HR strategy in support of Vertiv’s business goals. Lim brings more than two decades of experience leading human resources teams, supporting organisational transformation, and supplying data-driven insights for global HR operations in the manufacturing space. Prior to joining Vertiv, Lim spent more than 20 years holding various HR leadership positions at Honeywell and was most recently the VP of Human Resources at ITT. “Cheryl is an accomplished leader with extensive experience developing and executing high-level HR vision, strategy and results,” Johnson said. “Her tremendous knowledge, backed by a successful track record of leading teams, acquiring talent and managing change across large global companies, will support the high-performing culture that is Vertiv’s backbone.” “Vertiv’s leaders have a vision for employee growth and well-being that aligns perfectly with the philosophy I followed during my more than 20 years in HR leadership,” Lim said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a team of forward-thinking individuals and to implement strategies to help Vertiv support the organisation.” Telehouse Appoints Harry Snape Telehouse has appointed Harry Snape as Channel Partner Manager to spearhead the expansion of its Channel Partner Programme. NS1 Appoints Emily Nerland NS1 has announced the appointment of Emily Nerland as Head of Global Sales. Nerland brings extensive experience in executing effective go-to-market strategies for networking and cloud technologies and will be instrumental in evangelising NS1’s foundational networking infrastructure solutions globally. Nerland came to NS1 from Masergy, where, as Managing Director for EMEA, she was responsible for growing the region through direct and indirect channels by leading the go-to-market team to deliver on the value proposition of the organisation. She was appointed to this role after having built the partner community as the Director of Channel at Masergy.
